Aston Martin was originally created by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in 1913 after Martin raced at Aston Hill. The two had been selling cars produced by Singer off of Callow Street in London, when they both decided to start creating their own vehicles. What would become the first Aston Martin was produced when they fit together a Coventry-Simplex engine to the chassis of a 1908 Isotta-Fraschini.
Becoming an iconic international symbol over time, the Aston Martin brand catapulted to fame, becoming synonymous with a luxury car brand in the 1950s and 1960s. This is indicative in numerous cultural references, like in the infamous James Bond movie Goldfinger when he drives a DB5 which was produced in 1964.
Aston Martin has a brief history in the racing industry, with their racing team only having been established in 2004. In 2009, their chairman David Richards announced that the famous brand would return to Formula One the following year, but this has still yet to take fruition. However, they have performed well in other venues, like the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, also categorising their vehicles as sports cars.
Aston Martin has earned itself a reputation of sophistication and luxury all across the globe for their constant endeavour to create a car that is utter class. Recognised by car enthusiasts for their unique design and rich history, most people only ever dream of driving an Aston Martin. But the good news is that you can rent an Aston Martin just as easily as any other car. You can be sure that you will be experiencing a vehicle that is always crafted to embody class and induce excitement for every driver!
